Greetings, friends!
Please join our Awakin Circle. You’re invited to come together to sit in silence, followed by sharing reflections. Our Awakin Circle is online, which means we can each meditate in our own space yet connect heart-to-heart, and also this format allows us to welcome folks from all over!
Brief flow…
—5:30 p.m PST. Find your time zone here. An hour of collective silence; it’s unguided, without any instructions or music. For first-timers, this primer on meditation may be helpful. (You can pop on at any time during the silent sitting but please plan to log on at least a few minutes before 6:30. Please mute and you can have video on or off…we still know we’re sharing the space and connected!
—6:30 p.m. PST/ A short reading followed by a circle of sharing to hear reflections on what’s coming up for you based on the passage for this month or other reflections. (You can always pass, too, and just listen.)
Awakin Circles are inspired by Service Space, an amazing ecosystem of 500,000 volunteers focusing on doing selfless and generous acts of kindness for others for the purpose of inner transformation. One way to be involved is to participate in an “Awakin” circle.
Awakin gatherings started when three friends got together in 1996 to sit in silence each week, in an ordinary living room in Silicon Valley. No teachers or gurus. No set agendas or proposed beliefs either. Just one strong principle -- when you change within, the world changes around you.
Other offerings of Service Space include weekly Awakin calls, daily inspiring emails, a deeper dive and engagement through pods, a compassionate response to Coronavirus—KarunaNews, and inspiring short videos, KarmaTube.
