Imagine a restaurant where there are no prices on the menu and where the check reads £0.00 with only this footnote: "Your meal was a gift from someone who came before you. To complete the circle of giving, we invite you to pay it forward for those who dine after you." That's Karma Kitchen, a volunteer-driven experiment in generosity!
Teaming up with the Museum of Happiness, Cyrus Todiwala's Cafe Spice Namaste and The Well Bean Co cafe, we welcome you to dine at a pop-up Karma Kitchen on the evening of Sunday, June 18th from 6:30-8:30pm, with special guest, Nipun Mehta, founder of Karma Kitchen and ServiceSpace!
To get a feel for the magic that unfolds when generosity is on the menu, you may enjoy reading about a past Pop Up Karma Kitchen we hosted to mark International Day of Happiness. Or watch this video from another Karma Kitchen location:
Karma Kitchen will be hosted on the beautiful waterfront in the Royal Docks at The Well Bean Co, a lovely cafe which donates a percentage of all purchases to mental health charities. The cafe was founded by Charlie Claydon, who many of you met at a past Awakin Movie Circle where he shared his personal journey to overcome struggles with his mental health. In 2023, the mezzanine level of The Well Bean Co became the new home of the Museum of Happiness, where Vicky runs a programme of pay-it-forward classes to support the community's well-being!
Karma Kitchen is one of those beautiful spaces where the lines between giving and receiving get blurred, and we hope that you can join us!
Please feel free to share this invitation with others who might be inspired to experience a pay-it-forward restaurant -- and collectively create ever-widening circles of care.
To reserve your space for dinner from 6:30-8:30pm, please register by submitting your email address here below (one email address per person is needed to reserve the correct number of spaces). We look forward to welcoming you at Karma Kitchen!
