Awakin Circles brings people around the world to sit in silence for an hour, share some inspirational moments for the second hour, and often have a light meal afterward. No teachers, no agendas. Circles are all volunteer-run and independently organized, with a simple wish for greater awakening of awareness and compassion, in kinship and community with one another. That’s Awakin.
In Auroville, we're thrilled to host a special Awakin Circle with Nipun Mehta joining as a guest speaker.
- 5:00PM -- Collective Silence
- 6:00PM -- Reflections from the Speaker on Heartivism, and Q&A
- 7:30PM -- Simple Dinner in Silence, followed by informal hugs and goodbye
Kindly RSVP below by December 5th to help us plan the seating arrangement and dinner accordingly.
About the Speaker: Nipun Mehta is the founder of ServiceSpace -- an incubator of projects that support a gift culture. In his mid-twenties, Nipun quit his job to become a "full time volunteer" and over the last 20 years, his work has reached millions, and mushroomed into numerous projects like DailyGood, Awakin Circles and Karma Kitchen. Among his accolades, President Obama appointed him on a council for social change, Dalai Lama recognized him as an "Unsung Hero of Compassion", and Germany's OOOM magazine named him Top 100 Most Inspiring People of 2018. One of his most formative experiences was a walking pilgrimage across India, with his wife of six months, whose profound lessons also became the subject of his widely-read address at UPenn commencement. Nipun's mission statement in life reads: "Bring smiles in the world and stillness in my heart."
It would be great to have you join us, share a contemplative space of reflection, and plant seeds for co-creating more goodness in the world. To join, simply RSVP below with your email and you'll be emailed all the logistical information shortly.
