About JB: JB has been the Spiritual Care Coordinator at WHHS since 2017. He earned a Master of Divinity from Naropa University in 2014, where he studied interfaith clinical spiritual care, family dynamics, group process, and grief/bereavement support. During the course of his graduate studies, JB sat a month-long dathun, silent meditation retreat, at Compassionate Dharma Cloud Monastery in Morrison, CO and earned a mindfulness instructor certification through the Shambhala Association in Boulder, CO. He is Washington Hospital’s clinical and Palliative Care chaplain, with 5 units of Clinical Pastoral Education earned in two ACPE certified residency programs, and 9 months training with UCSF’s Practice PC Palliative Care communications team. Additionally, JB facilitates a weekly drop-in grief support group at Washington Hospital.
