Acts of Kindness : 'Sunday Funday' with Ashiyana at Matunga Road

Dear ones,

You are invited to a Sunday morning of kindness, connection and reflection. Tihs time we meet at Matunga Road and volunteer at the 'Sunday Funday' gathering. 

Sunday Funday is Ashiyana foundation's  volunteer-run program that started with a simple dream of bringing colour to bare white walls of the home. We ask volunteers to make children’s Sunday a ‘FUN’ day, since that is the day no teachers or staff are present in the home. The idea is to create a space for volunteers and children to interact, share and learn and enable the children to spend their Sunday creatively and constructively. Activities range from art, craft, music, dance, theatre, storytelling, sports and movie screenings.

Time : 1.45 pm to 4.00 pm
Venue : Meeting point is David Sassoon Industrial School (DSIS), Matunga Road, Mumbai.

The tentative flow for the gathering will be

• 1:45 pm : Volunteers to assemble outside the DSIS home and the Ashiyana staff members share basic do’s and don’ts with everyone.
• 2:00 pm : We play with the kids in groups of 4/5
• 4:00 pm : The volunteers meet again for a group picture and share ah-ha moments

This circle is open for all, including for kids of all age. However, kids below 15 years need to be accompanied by adults. You do not need to carry anything in particular, except maybe a bottle of water for your own use. This being a Govt home for kids, your ID card (Aadhar etc) may be needed for entry. Separately, interested people will need to register for ease of entry.
