Exhale Day
Two weeks ago, we began in the field of Me—listening to the inner voice, exploring the tension between hope and illusion, and widening our circles of reciprocity. From there, we expanded into We—examining scale, speed, structure, power, and technology. Each threshold stretched our understanding: the limits of Me led us to We, and now, as we stand at the edge of We, we sense yet another unfolding—into Us.
Beyond the familiar patterns of individual and collective identity lies something less definable yet deeply felt—a space where relationships are no longer transactions between fixed entities but an unfolding co-creation, inseparable from the larger flow of emergence. Us is not a category or an organization. It is not bound by ideology or identity. Instead, it is shaped by our deepest motivations, aspirations, and the silent, unseen forces that connect us.
And so, today, we take an exhale day—a pause to absorb, reflect, and notice the shifts that may be happening within us. Maybe your hands practice today is as simple as a small dance of joy. :) While we may not always be able to pinpoint the exact rewiring taking place, we do know this: gratitude—for the shared field we’ve co-created, for the insights exchanged, for the ways we have shaped and been shaped by each other.
In that spirit, we return to the living prompt of each other. The invitation is simple: listen, learn, absorb.
For inspiration, watch how Mr. Rogers tunes into the shared space—the pauses, the silences, the invisible threads of connection between words. As he says: "The things that are center stage are rarely the things that are the most important. It's usually what happens over in the wings."
Now engage our "living prompt":
- Read reflections of fellow podmates this week, paying special attention to what is left unsaid, the quiet intention underneath the words.
- Then, respond by offering a comment to build on your shared context. Or, leave a silent “heart” to acknowledge their offering to our collective.
- Step-it-up by reading and commenting on reflections for podmates whom you've not interacted much yet.
- In the process, notice what nuances emerge for you along this week's themes of community, speed, power, technology, and networks.
- Finally, if you receive comments or hearts from podmates, practice “graceful receiving," as Mr. Rogers described. “If we receive what somebody gives us in a graceful way, we’ve given that person a wonderful gift.”
