7-Day Compassion Challenge
Starts May 14, 2022!
In early March, hundreds converged for a global 'sanctuary' of songs and prayers for peace in Ukraine. On the coattails of the heart-stilling collective spirit, a few friends who volunteer with KarunaVirus.org got inspired spend a week engaging acts of compassion, with the idea that each vibration of care unleashes a ripple effect, which all add drops to the resounding reservoir of compassion shared by all walks of life.
We invite you to a 7-day Compassion Challenge, as a small pathway to deepen our intentions for peace, within ourselves and throughout the world. We live in an interconnected world. When we walk through our days with eyes and hearts of caring for others, it invariably influences the lives of countless others. Our hope for this challenge is to inspire each other to enage acts of caring, and share the merits with those caught in war and situations of suffering around the world.
Particularly, now, as fear and uncertainty, disinformation and loss of life pulse through the veins of our collective humanity, the fervent potential of compassion has never been more pertinent, and ripe. As war wages in Ukraine, nations and schools, companies and social workers, celebrities and everyday heroes are weaving a stunning tapestry of resilience, rooted in millions of distributed acts of care and an indefatigable conviction in our interconnection.
Already, before we begin, it has been heartwarming to glimpse the genuine intentions converging for our challenge!
How it works: Every day, you will receive a prompt with a suggested act of compassion to do in your corner of the world. After engaging the act, you'll share your experience in writing with the group. As you submit your reflections each day, you will also get to read other people's stories, and interact in wide-ranging ways. The challenge will also include two group video calls: an orientation to begin and virtual celebration to close:
- Orientation: Saturday, May 14th @8AM PDT for 90 minutes
- Closing Call: Saturday, May 21st @8AM PDT for 90 minutes
We begin the challenge on May 14th. Each day will invite you to do an act of compassion, write your learnings with the group, and read others' reflections and bonus inspiration -- so please anticipate a minimum commitment of an hour each day.
To join, simply fill out the form below. The challenge hosts will follow up with a welcome email that explains the next steps.
