The heart of every Pod is its volunteers. A typical Pod has about a dozen volunteers, contributing in various roles like:
- Community Weavers: like participants, they submit daily reflections for all the prompts, but they also read all the posts, add reflective comments, highlight quotable sentences and more.
- Content Amplifiers: to help Podmates feel seen, amplifiers feature top-10 lists, create graphical quote-cards, concoct graphical surprises from profiles and much more.
- Coordinators: for those who have experience in volunteering with other Pods, you can help with event management and tech support.
Time commitment for each role varies -- from a lighter-touch 5-7 hours a week to a whole lot more. Volunteers also join an intimate volunteer-orientation call with the Pod Hosts, have access to various backend dashboards, and engage in a debrief call after each Pod event.
From what past volunteers say, experiencing the Pod from a volunteer lens is entirely unique experience -- not only does it illuminate SSp design principles of emergence, but also is a deep practice in the art of "kingly giving". Apart from serving the emergence of Podmates, it also offers an opportunity to deepen in our kinship as a mini-Pod. :)
