For many years, Moved By Love volunteers have hosted 3-day experiential service retreats each month. The core idea was to use hands, head and heart to deepen our spirit of service. Building on that experience, we have now been exploring virtual Head-Hand-Heart immersion to embrace the challenges of the current times.
Given the holiday season, this retreat is focused on gift-giving with multiple forms of wealth. What are different ways to give and how can it become a habit for the rest for the year? What does it mean to give a gift that is yours to give, and not "climb on conditions"? How do we nourish each other to avoid "compassion fatigue"? As we cultivate four fundamental shifts, from consumption to contribution, transaction to trust, isolation to community, and scarcity to abundance, we will also explore building community amongst each other, and reflect on subtle values embedded in our acts of giving. Our Pod will be filled with various activities -- from random acts of kindness, interacting with everyday heroes, discussing edges of practicing selflessness and a whole lot more. Read stories from our first Immersion last month. Ultimately, by amplifying the inner transformation element of the service process, our hope is to building a field of emergence that creates ripples of compassionate acts in the world.
While the Immersion itself is for two days, we initiate the journey few days before hand. Below is the rough flow ...
7-Day HHH Immersion Timeline
||Dec 20th: Orientation Call
We'll start with a 90-minute, virtual orientation call to connect all retreat participants and volunteers and to take you through the process of daily prompts and other immersion details.
||Dec 21-25: Revving up the Engines!
For these 4 days, you'll get daily prompts with a short reading, a small practice and a heart reflection. As you submit your responses, you'll also get to read other participant reflections. It will take about an hour per day.
||Dec 26-27: Immersion!
The immersion days will require a full 12 hour commitment, and it will be filled with wide ranging individual and collective activities. Some of it will be offline in your local communities, and some of it will be online. We'll engage in deep dialogue around values, practice art with heart, tell stories that move us, invite inspiring speakers, do synchronized kind acts, flow with fun activities -- and with room for ample surprises. :)
To facilitate deeper connections, we limit most of our retreats to 15 participants -- and we would be delighted to have you join us!
