The real challenge for humanity is that we have Paleolithic emotions, medieval institutions and godlike technology. — E.O. Wilson
As AI rewrites our world, we stand at an edge. Not just a technological edge—but a human one. The question isn't only what will AI become? but what will we become?
This pod is for people willing to sit with that question—not to debate it, but to live into it together.
We've been exploring this territory through a series of dialogues with remarkable guides: a neuroscientist who pioneered meditation research, a tech architect now immersed in jazz and indigenous wisdom, an indigenous scholar who suggests AI might be "nature speaking back," an 80-year-old meditation teacher experimenting with ultrasound and the brain.
What emerged wasn't answers—but better questions:
If suffering equals pain times resistance, can technology help us come into alignment with our own experience—or does it just add new forms of resistance? What happens to human development when our primary relationships are with disembodied intelligences? We've built systems that fragment attention—is it possible to design for the opposite? The incentives shaping AI reward extraction and engagement—what would it look like to build from different values entirely? And if flourishing is contagious, what changes when we design for ripple effects rather than individual optimization?
This pod continues the inquiry—including a post-pod conversation with co-founders of Pinterest and Twitter, who are now asking such questions from inside their own journeys.
Across the week, we'll trace AI's influence through three lenses:
|
◯ Me Will AI entrench us further in the mind, or become a doorway to deeper intelligence? |
◯ ◯ We What still requires human presence, embodiment, and transmission? |
◯ ◯ ◯ Us How do we build technology that serves life rather than extracts from it? |
A pod is not a course or a discussion group—it's something stranger. For one week, you'll receive daily prompts drawn from these conversations and the questions they opened. You'll reflect, share, read what others are discovering. No expert at the center. Just fellow travelers attending to what's nearest.
The learning happens between—in unexpected resonances, questions you didn't know you had, the silence after someone says something true. To learn more about pods, visit here.
