Day 0
Wisdom of Rumi
Starts May 15, 2021!
The result of my life is no more than three words: I was raw, I became cooked, I was burnt.' - Rumi
Thirteenth-century Persian poet, Rumi, has influenced the global culture across numerous borders and divisions. As few in the West know, his teachings are deeply connected to the spirituality of Islam -- a religion that, in our times, is often misunderstood.
This May, we are hosting a pod to dive deeper into Rumi's life, poetry and teachings for the modern world. It will be hosted by two practicing Sufis residing in Istanbul, Turkey -- Marian Brehmer, who has written a book on Rumi's life, and Aslinur Akdeniz Brehmer who comes from a family lineage of Sufis connected to Rumi's teachings.
Who was Rumi? How did he become the great saint whose verses are still read after eight centuries? What are the roots of his teachings?
To collectively explore the nuances of Rumi's wisdom, we are hosting a one-week virtual immersion: a collective exploration with like-minded friends from across the globe, coming together with the shared intention of being the change we wish to see in the world, in ways that are both personal and systemic. Each day will offer a short poem from Rumi and related personal practices to embody the change; collectively, we will reflect and hope to co-create a shared field that ignites a "whole greater than the sum of the parts."
If you are moved to embark on this journey, with like-hearted friends globally, we invite you to join this co-creative experiment!
