Day 0
What Would Water Do?
Starts Feb 27, 2021!
"Be water, my friend. You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Be formless, shapeless, like water," Bruce Lee once reflected.
In designing our personal lives or our social interactions, it can often help to ask: what would water do? What does it mean to have a fluid mind? What structures and patterns facilitate flow?
Thales of Miletus, an ancient Greek philosopher, believed that water was the essence of all matter. While, from the perch of our extraordinary scientific knowledge, we smile at this, it’s likely that ancient man’s actual experience of life was closer than ours is to the mysterious fact of our existence.
Using water as a lens, this pod proposes to attempt a journey back toward a living sense of connection with the manifold reality of life, one often missing in the digital trance of contemporary life. Every day will feature an in-depth interview from works & conversations magazine, alongside other reflective material; in addition, we'll invite a daily "hands" activity, and heart reflections.
We invite you to co-create this journey back to our elemental roots.
