Founders Circle (Pune)
Pune
If you are a founder of an effort -- whether in the private, public or voluntary sector -- that aims to elevate compassion and wisdom in today's fragmented world, please join us for a dialogue to learn from each other's experiences and nurture "a stream of meaning flowing among us and through us and between us -- out of which will emerge some new understanding, something creative." (David Bohm) As founders, your compass for navigating ambiguous terrains would not only be quite instructive for others but could also seed radically innovative solutions for our future.
Perhaps it's hyperbole to say that we live in unprecedented times. Yet, it's hard to fathom the implications of current meta-crises coupled with an intelligence revolution that find ourselves in. As Vanessa Andriotti puts it:
At its core, algorithmic modernity promises individuals a curated world tailored to their consumer preferences while simultaneously shaping these preferences through neurochemical manipulation. This system is designed not only to capture and leverage attention but also to offer a seductive sense of self-fulfillment,simulated intimacy and inflated importance in return. This calculated manipulation and exploitation of personal preferences lead to a spectrum of effects—both expected and unexpected, conscious and unconscious.
Such times of rampant unintended consequences require us to move from narrow boundary intelligence -- characterized by either/or, linear thinking, and forms of accountability defined in terms of single-goal optimization -- to a wide-boundary intelligence that allows us to work with complexity, uncertainty, and ambiguity. Navigating personal realities as diverse as fingerprints while simultaneously cooperating towards a whole beyond us requires compassion and wisdom. (We have been experimenting in this direction with Awakin AI.) Or as Jan Eliasson says, "Without passion, nothing happens; without compassion, the wrong things happen."
As a founder of an effort, you are invited to an intimate dialogue that starts with you sharing your lens on the world, the questions it raises in your mind, and the kind of compassion "acupuncture points" that you find yourself drawn to. The format invites everyone to lead with presence, in a way that might open into unexpected synergy and collective action in the world. If helpful, Nipun Mehta, Founder of Servicespace would moderate.
Time: 9:00am - 11:00am
Location: Pune
We'll likely limit the dialogue to a small group (of 6 or so). If you're interested in joining this circle, simply RSVP below and we'll get back to you closer to the date if we're able to squeeze you in.
P.S. We intend to include a few more people as "guest-listeners". For that, you can RSVP here.
Once you register, you'll be emailed the details.
